I can make a selection color one of the map style parameters. I think the best what could happen here is that your share your style design experience with the project. In some other relations it is still the best available software despite all its limitations. In this relation Freeplane is not professional. So it depends on contributions of people like you how the styles, the features and the UI is developed. We do not have an expertise in UI, colors and all topics you mentioned. It is a product of passionate developers doing unpaid work. And again - apologies if I'm introducing ideas that are not related to the current discussion.įreeplane is not a commercial project. They would be independent of the template until I actively chose the template anew. Files not so set would behave as they do now. Then it would be on my head if I got it wrong. To be clear: the way I propose is for Freeplane to require me to choose a setting for a given mindmap to auto-update with any change to the template. The raw Windows files look like HTML and CSS to me, so it seems natural (not necessarily easy - again, not a developer) that this could include external CSS sheets that could be called.Ī good possible workaround for me would be if when I changed a template, all files that I set to be auto-updated when the template changes would update to reflect the choices made. I have no desire to hijack this excellent thread.Īs an active user (not developer) I've mentioned before that it would be awesome if Freeplane offered something like CSS stylesheets that I could define for myself. What I'm going to say seems related to me, but maybe it's not, and apologies if that's the case. I just regret the selected node color is not included into the styles, I hope toĭesign more in the future (maybe using the solazise color scheme). You can distribute those 2 styles with freeplane if you wish. I'd say if I knew it was possible to have such nice colors andĪppearance in Freeplane, I'd have used it more in the past! Here it is in attachment, and here is a screenshot It would be a good idea to look for someĪt the moment I've worked with the "Nord" color scheme, which is quite The proportions are not very appealing, and the colors are too basic andĭon't match very well together. Is the default themes are not especially good-looking: It's possible to create themes in Freeplane, which is good. I've search a bit how to discover how to get a more stylish Freeplane. There areĪlso dozen of "themes", which allows to have professional-looking maps:īut xmind is not so conveniant to use (I find freeplane better in everyĪspect) and not open source. I'veīroad lines by default, gorgeous font, sure it's quite pretty. mm files in import/export rather good (but nothing more).Īfter some researches, I've found Xmind which is running on Linux. So I've tried a few online tools: "mindmaps", which looks rather good,īut can't import or export to the "freemind" format, and "mymind", which I opened again Freeplane, and was stillīewildered by the default appearance: basic flashy colors, it was quite To find a good piece of software for mapping my ideas (I already had aįreemind/freeplane w.i.p. Let's start with a short story: I needed to sort some ideas, and decided
